STUDENTS GET TIPS FROM THE TOP

May 2009

Albert

Students at Sibford School near Banbury got some tips from the top when they attended a special guitar workshop led by country rock star Albert Lee.

Lee – described by Eric Clapton as ‘the best guitar player in the world’ – spoke about he started his career in the music industry back in the 1960s and showed pupils how he achieves his legendary sound.

Later in the evening he was joined by his band, Hogan’s Heroes, for a special concert in the school hall.

Sibford teacher Andy Foakes said: “To have someone in school who has played with the likes of Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Bill Wyman and the Everley Brothers was amazing. It was a great event and one which we won’t forget.”

Pictured with Albert Lee are Sibford Pupils Tom Smith (13); Joshua Mosley (12), Luke Platt (13) and Bradley Catton (13).
