August 2008

Three Year 11 students at Sibford School near Banbury have shown exceptional entrepreneurial flair by passing their AS Applied Business Studies a year early.

Sixteen-year-olds Alexandra Jardine of Clifton and Elinor Hirst of Bodicote, and Tom Roger of Great Rollright, who celebrates his 16th birthday tomorrow (Friday 15 August), studied for the AS exam alongside their GCSE exams.

Alexandra and Tom both received A grades while Elinor was awarded a B.

Said Yvonne Greene, director of Vocational Education: “The course enables candidates to gain a good understanding of how business works in the real world. To take the AS exam a year early is a real challenge and they have all done exceptionally well.”

And there was further good news for Tom who also sat his AS Maths early … gaining another A grade.
