November 2008

Fans of the long-running BBC radio drama, The Archers, are in for a treat when Sibford School hosts its annual craft fayre on Friday (December 5).

Actress Sunny Ormonde, (above) who plays the outrageous Lilian Bellamy, and co-star Sara Coward, alias Caroline Sterling, will be bringing a touch of Ambridge to the festivities.

The pair will be signing and selling Archers’ merchandise. There will also be an opportunity to win an original Archers’ script, autographed by the cast.

The Christmas Fayre, which is organised by the school’s Parents, Staff and Friends Association, runs from 2.30pm – 5.30pm.

Sibford School has close associations with The Archers. The series’ creator, Godfrey Baseley, was a pupil at the school during the late 1910s/early 1920s and rumour has it that the village of Sibford Ferris was firmly in his mind when he created the fictional setting of Ambridge.
