EARLY SUCCESS FOR HEAD BOY AND GIRL
August 2009

The new term of office for the incoming head boy and girl at Sibford School, near Banbury, has got off to a flying start with both gaining top grades at A Level … 12 months ahead of schedule!
The seventeen-year-olds each took an A Level a year early … with Tom Roger gaining an A grade in Maths and Alex Jardine an A in Applied Business Studies.
It was good news all round today at the Quaker-run school with excited students celebrating an A Level pass rate of 100% for both boys and girls.
Emily Gerrard gained straight As in Chemistry, Physics and Maths and will now go on to study Physics at Bristol University.
Meanwhile retiring head boy, Jonathan Prestidge, gained two A grades (in English and History) and a B (in Biology). He now plans to have a gap year before heading to Warwick University to study History.
As head boy and girl Tom Roger and Alex Jardine are keeping alive a tradition that spans more than 100 years. According to school records, the first pupils to be appointed head boy and girl were Ralph Hall and Ruth Taylor who took up office back in 1907.
